Fresh Fruit Sherbet  1PERSON  50548

   1 cup fully ripened strawberries,

   blackberries, raspberries or peaches

   1/4 cup sugar, or more if fruit is tart

   1/2 cup buttermilk

   1 egg white, stiffly beaten

 

   Puree fruit in a blender or food processor. Mix in sugar and let stand 10 minutes. Stir in

   buttermilk and fold in beaten egg white. Pour into ice cube trays or other freezer

   container and place in freezer. Stir sherbet gently every 2 hours until firm.
